Text Box: Since the trees and shrubs in your landscape essentially exist in a foreign environment, they often lack the nutrients found naturally on the forest floor. In your landscape, where natural fertilizer is limited, tree roots have to reach out to obtain the nutrients they need to grow. Barriers such as compacted soil, rock, buildings, pools, and pavements often inhibit their ability to obtain nutrients. Unfortunately, your lawn fertilizer is not enough because a slight amount, if any, will permeate down to the tree roots.

Text Box:    Arbor Care
Text Box: One of the greatest investments you can make to your environment is maintaining a proper pruning program.   A proper pruning program, the periodic removal of plant parts, is done for the safety, health, appearance, and structural integrity of your trees and shrubs.  This ensures they remain safe, healthy, and beautiful.
At Behunin Horticulture, our Arbor Division uses proper pruning techniques by implementing and exceeding the ANSI A300 standards for Arbor Care.  Since the use of improper pruning techniques can harm healthy plant growth, these standards should be applied to any person or entity engaged in the business, trade, or performance of repairing, maintaining, or preserving trees, shrubs, or other woody plants, so choose an arborist wisely.
